National Citizen Service Pilot Project at the HLC Dartford

Young people taking part in the pilot project for the National Citizen Service have been using the Healthy Living Centre as a base from which to plan their intergenerational community action project, for which they have chosen to provide a day of activities at a local residential home for the elderly.

Sallyanne Hall - Freelance Environmental Education worker stated that "The facilities at the HLC are fantastic, the provision of the computers and a meeting space for the young people to use with relative freedom was essential for them to plan their community project and the staff have been extremely helpful and supportive too guiding them towards other voluntary opportunities within the temple hill trust and HLC".
