 What makes our Job Club different to other Job Clubs?

 

First of all, ‘small is beautiful’.  We offer a friendly one-to-one service and you are able to attend small group sessions where you can enjoy a buffet lunch and really get to know the other group members.

 

Here at the Healthy Living Centre Job Club we believe that all our clients are important: we treat everyone as an individual and really do our best to get to know you.

 

We offer constructive help and advice with :

Why a good CV is so important.

 

Job hunting is a very competitive process often because of the sheer volume of candidates in the job market and the speed with which desirable positons are filled.

 

In the first instance, it is your CV that will put you ahead of other candidates and can get you the interview,  where you can demonstrate your suitability for the job.  

 

By offering a one-to-one service, Paula can spend time discussing all aspects of your individual circumstances and provide you with an up-to-date and professional CV.

 

Paula is also able to offer one-to-one appoints offering constructive advice on: interview techniques, applications & supporting statements (including on-line applications and speculative letters), change of career direction including, dedicated job search and also rehearsal interviews.

 

One-to-one CV’s and all one-to-one sessions are by appointment only.  Call Paula Burgess, Employability Skills Tutor on 07779 866008 (Between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday)

 

 

What happens at the Job Club?

 

The Living Well Job Club is held on Wednesdays between 1:00pm and 4:00pm, starting with a buffet style lunch which gives clients the opportunity to meet each other. 

 

Each session is different, but cover all aspects relating to unemployment including 

 

  • barriers to finding work
  • coping with application forms and on-line applications
  • interview techniques (including questions likely to be asked and questions you can ask when attending an  interview)
  • mock interviews

 

Although we do not have a magic wand, our commitment is to provide suggestions and solutions to increasing a persons confidence, motivation and ability to secure employment.We are pleased to be able to say that we have had many successes and always feel immensely happy and proud when we hear of another client that has attended the Job Club finding employment. 

Attending the job-club is ‘open-ended’ -  you come for as little or as long as you feel benefits you.
